How to play Kit Clash

A home kit with no badge and no sponsor. Name the club. Three kits a day, four guesses each. Every miss gives you a clue: the country, then the stadium, then the club's nickname.

A first-guess answer scores 4, then 3, 2 and 1. Score eight or more out of 12 to keep your streak.

Why it is harder than it looks

Half of Europe plays in red and white stripes. Athletic Club, Sunderland, Southampton, Brentford, Stoke, Sheffield United and PSV all wear them, and the difference is the colour of the shorts and socks. Look at the whole kit, not just the shirt.

The kits

Every kit is the club's classic home identity: the colours and pattern fans would draw from memory, not one season's design. Over 70 clubs from England, Scotland, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, Turkey, Argentina and Brazil. No crests or sponsors are shown.

Other names for it

A guess the kit or football shirt quiz, with the badge and sponsor taken off so you can't cheat.

Kit Clash FAQ

Why is the kit not this season's?

Kits change every year. The classic colours are what makes a club recognisable.

When does it reset?
