How to use effective ownership in FPL
Template players. Anyone over 100% EO in the top 10k is owned and widely captained by the managers you're chasing. Not owning him is a big bet: if he hauls, you drop.
Differentials. A player under 10% EO who scores moves you up against almost everyone. Our FPL differentials page ranks low-owned players by expected points.
Captaincy. The captain split shows how much of the field is on the same armband. Going against a 70% captain is the biggest single swing in a gameweek.
Chips. How many managers in each tier played a Wildcard, Free Hit, Bench Boost or Triple Captain this week.
Ownership here is a sample of managers from each rank tier, taken after the deadline. FPL doesn't publish effective ownership, so expect a few points of noise. For the whole game's ownership, see each player page.

What is effective ownership in FPL?
Ownership that counts captaincy: a starter counts once, a captain twice, a triple captain three times, a benched player zero. EO over 100% means the managers around you are mostly captaining him.
Why does EO matter?
Rank moves by the difference between your team and everyone else's. A player with 150% EO in the top 10k costs top 10k managers ground if they don't own and captain him when he scores.
Where do these numbers come from?
A sample of managers from each rank tier of the overall league, taken after the deadline. FPL doesn't publish effective ownership, so expect a few points of noise.
